6: Creating the Demonstration System Menu

6.1 Introduction

Chapter 2, Using the Demonstration Subscription System demonstrated the way in which menu screens are used to access data through data entry screens and reports. A menu screen displays a number of menu choices that the user may select. Associated with each menu choice is a command or set of commands which is executed when the menu choice is selected.

The following section demonstrates the creation of the Demonstration Subscription System menu which provides access to the data entry screens and reports created in the previous chapters. When creating an application menu, the menu is ‘drawn’ on a screen in much the same way that data entry forms are created. Information on modifying a menu is also contained in this chapter.
