DBFINDN C-3

NAME

dbfindn - get nth database description

SYNOPSIS

#include <cbase/dbase.h>

DB *dbfindn (n)

int n;

DESCRIPTION

Dbfindn searches the C/Base database catalog for the nth database description. If found, dbfindn returns a pointer to a structure describing the database. If the C/Base database catalog contains fewer than n entries, dbfindn returns a NULL pointer and sets the RMS error message to a description of the reason for not finding the database entry.

The order of database entries in the C/Base database catalog is undefined and can change at any time. This function is designed for scanning all database entries, not looking for one particular entry.

The structure returned by dbfindn is defined in the include file <cbase/dbase.h>.

DIAGNOSTICS

A value of NULL is returned if there are fewer than n entries in the C/Base database catalog.

NOTES

The returned value points to static data whose contents are overwritten with every call.
