DTOPEN C-3

NAME

dtopen - open RMS dictionary file for I/O

SYNOPSIS

#include <cbase/dirio.h>

DICT *dtopen (filename, mode)

char *filename;

char *mode;

DESCRIPTION

Dtopen opens the RMS dictionary file for the RMSfile filename for reading (mode is "r"). Filename points to a string of ASCII characters representing the logical name or a pathname of the RMSfile, terminated by a null character. See cdict(C-1) for creating data dictionaries.

The pointer returned should be saved and used on subsequent calls to dtaccess(C-3), dtefld(C-3), dtefldn(C-3), dtfind(C-3), dtfindn(C-3), dtfindi(C-3), dtfindk(C-3), and dtclose(C-3).
