GETFREAL C-3

NAME

getfreal - get format for REAL values

SYNOPSIS

#include <cbase/dtypes.h>

char *getfreal()

DESCRIPTION

Getfreal returns a pointer to a string containing the format for REAL values. This format string is used by atoreal(C-3) and realtoa(C-3). In addition, several of the C/Base programs use this string for formatting REAL values.

The first format specifier is for positive (>0) values. The second is for negative (<0) values and the third is for zero values. In the absence of the second or third specifiers, the first specifier is used for the corresponding class of values.

The REAL format string is retrieved from the country format structure (see fcountry(C-3)).

NOTES

The value returned points to static data shared among all of the get format routines and is overwritten with each call.
