The Labor Hours File must be properly maintained to ensure accurate payroll calculations. Depending on the detail to be maintained, entry into the file can be done each day or at the end of each pay period. Care must be taken that all of the hours for employees being paid have been entered before the payroll calculation program is run. Payroll can be rerun, but it is painful to do so.
