6.2 Field Descriptions

Slip Number

Each packing slip must be assigned a unique number. These numbers are used as invoice numbers when the packing slip is billed, so you must also to keep the slip sequences unique from other invoice sequences.

If the automatic number sequencing is desired, the first packing slip number entered must end with a sequence of digits. Entry into this field is required.

Order Number

This field records which order is being filled. The value entered into this field must match an order number previously entered in the order entry screen. Entry into this field is required.

If you are having trouble finding a valid order number, press the validate key sequence GOLD <F1> and then the letter V to display an alternate screen that you can use to query orders. After you find the order you want, press the validate key sequence GOLD <F1> and then the letter E to return to the packing slip screen.

Once a packing slip has detail entered, it is not possible to change the order number without first deleting the packing slip detail.

Requested

This field shows the requested shipping date after a valid order number has been entered. Entry into this field is not allowed.

Rush?

This field indicates if the order was marked as a rush order. Again, this field does not allow entry.

Filled

This field indicates when the packing slip was filled. If this field is empty and the RETURN key is pressed, todays date is displayed in the field. Entry into this field is required.

Shipped

This field indicates when the packing slip was marked as shipped. After a packing slip has been marked as shipped, no other changes can be made to the slip. Entry into this field is not allowed.

If a packing slip is accidentally marked as shipped, it must first be unshipped before any changes are permitted.

Shipped to:

These fields are displayed after a valid order number has been entered. The shipping address appears on the printed packing slip. Entry into these fields is not allowed.

Special Instructions:

These fields are displayed after a valid order number has been entered. The special instructions appear on the printed packing slip. Entry into these fields is not allowed.

Shipper

This field is displayed after a valid order number has been entered. This shows the code name of the carrier to be used to deliver the order. Entry into this field is not allowed.

Ship Terms:

This field is displayed after a valid order number has been entered. This shows the terms of the shipping freight costs. Entry into this field is not allowed.
