Sales Code
Enter a unique code to identify the sales representative in this field. This code identifies the sales representative within the accounting system. Short codes are quicker to enter and easier to recall although the code can be up to 15 characters long. Entry is required for this field.
Name
Enter the full name of the sales representative in this field. This unabbreviated name is printed on sales reports and financial reports. The full name does not have to be entered, i.e., this is not an entry required field. The name entered can be up to 35 characters in length.
Address, City, State, Country, Zip, Phone
This is the sales representatives entire address and phone number. Entry of data in these fields is optional.
Commission Rate
This field gives the amount of sales commission for the employee. The value entered here is a percentage in the range of 0 and 100. A sales representative earning a 10 percent commission would have a value of 10 entered into this field. Input to this field is optional.
Based on Gross Sales?
Commissions can be based on gross sales or on the net amount of the invoice. If the sales representative is to be paid based on the gross amount of the invoice, this field should be yes. If the sales representative is to be paid based on the net amount of the invoice, this field should be no. Input to this field is optional.
Active?
This field indicates whether or not a sales representative is currently on the payroll of the company. If the employee is on the payroll, the value of this field is yes. If the employee is not on the company payroll, the value of this field is no. Entry into this field is not allowed.
