If the freight charges are known at the time an order is entered into the system, the freight charges can be entered on the detail lines of purchase orders. The picture below illustrates this:
In this example, the Freight field shows a freight charge of $42.12.
At times, the vendor wont know what the freight charges are until the item is shipped. In this case, you wont know the freight charges until you receive the packing slip or the vendors invoice. This means you cant enter the freight charges on the purchase order. Instead, they must be added later.
