43.6.2 Price Structure Screen

Each product can be assigned one of three possible pricing structures: none - a fixed price is always used, customer - the price is based on a user-defined set of customer classes, or quantity - the price is based on the quantity sold. This screen is used to enter the prices for products with customer or quantity pricing structures. This screen is not used for products with a price structure of none. A picture of the pricing structure screen is shown below.

This screen is displayed after storing the product information screen for products with pricing structures of customer or quantity. A description of the fields on this screen follows.

Copied Fields

The top portion of the screen contains several fields that are redisplayed to help identify the inventory product associated with the pricing information displayed in this screen. The values of these fields are taken directly from the previous screen (see previous sub-section for descriptions).

Price Class

required for customer price structures

This field is used only when the pricing structure is customer. With this type of pricing, customers can be divided into user-defined groups (based on the value of the Codes field in the Customer master file.

This field should be left blank for quantity price structures.

Lower Quantity

required for quantity price structures

This field must be filled in for quantity price structures. It is used to display the lower quantity limit for a particular price.

This field should be left blank for customer price structures.

Margin

optional

This is the percentage of the price that becomes gross profit. For example, if the price of an item is $2.00 and the margin is 50%, the gross profit is $1.00. Both pricing structures, customer and quantity use this field.

Input to this field is optional.

Price

optional

The price in this field is the default price for the product when a sales order or invoice is entered. Both price structures use this field.
