2.5.4 Erasing the Contents of an RMSfile

You can erase the contents of an RMSfile with toolkit as follows:

gifs/20000000.gif Start toolkit on your database:

c:\> toolkit dbname

gifs/20000000.gif Select 1 - Data Files Menu from the Toolkit Development Menu.

gifs/20000000.gif Select M4 - Erase Contents of Data File from the Data File Menu.

gifs/20000000.gif Enter the logical name of the RMSfile you wish to erase, enter yes to confirm, and press STORE <F5> to erase the contents of the RMSfile, or press CANCEL <F1>-X to leave the RMSfile unchanged.

You can erase the contents of a logical RMSfile with the following command:

c:\> clearlf lfname

Lfname is the logical name of the RMSfile. All data records are removed when you erase an RMSfile.
