Many monitors and keyboard have a Clear Display, or some similarly named, key. By pressing this key while in UPDATE or ADD mode, the fields on the form are cleared, if your monitor and keyboards is so equipped. The CLEAR function may also be performed by pressing the GOLD key <F1> followed by the 4 key. Only those fields where data may be entered are cleared when this function is performed. This means that when the user is in ADD mode all the entry fields will be cleared. When the user is in UPDATE mode, however, the contents of the key field(s) will not be cleared, as data may not be entered in those fields. Using the screen in Section 3.2 as an example, the field labeled Subscriber would not be cleared if the user was in UPDATE mode when this function was selected.
