4.9.2 Modifying a Logical RMSfile

You can modify the structure of a logical RMSfile with toolkit as follows:

gifs/20000000.gif Start toolkit on your database:

c:\> toolkit dbname

gifs/20000000.gif Select 1 - Data Files Menu from the Toolkit Development Menu.

gifs/20000000.gif Select D2 - Modify File Definition from the Data File Menu.

gifs/20000000.gif Enter the logical name of the RMSfile to modify and press STORE <F5> to continue, or CANCEL <F1>-X to leave without modifying the RMSfile.

gifs/20000000.gif Enter your changes as described in section 4.6, Editing an RMS Definition File.

You can modify a logical RMSfile with the following command:

c:\> lfedit -v lfname

Lfname is the logical name for the RMSfile. Lfedit assumes that the database has toolkit style subdirectories; lfedit gets the RMS definition file from the def subdirectory.

Lfedit runs the filedef program to interactively modify the RMSfile definition, as described in section 4.6, Editing an RMS Definition File.
