7.1 Introduction

Two report formats are available when creating or editing existing C/Base reports: text or visual formats. The file that contains the description of a report is referred to as a reportfile.

Once the description for a reportfile is created, several steps are required before running the C/Base report. First, the reportfile must be compiled into a format interpretable by wtr(C-1). This intermediate format is known as a compiled reportfile. Compiled reportfiles are not modifiable. Wtr is used on a compiled reportfile to run the actual report. Grace(C-1) provides a convenient way of compiling and running C/Base reports and channeling output to the screen or printer.
