7.3.3 Editing Reportfiles with Rptedit

To modify an existing logical reportfile, enter the command:

c:\> rptedit lrptfile

Invoking rptedit without specifying the logical reportfile name, as with the command:

c:\> rptedit

requires that the reportfile name be requested. When rptedit is invoked in this manner, a parameter form is displayed allowing only the entry of the logical reportfile name. The parameter form displayed is shown below.

With the logical reportfile name known, rptedit determines if the reportfile is a text or visual report. Text reportfiles are modified using the editor specified by the environment variable EDITOR. All visual reportfiles are modified using wtrdef.
